Online auctions sites, such as EBay have long since been a bastion of hope, that you will one day be reunited with your vintage Alf Lunchbox. Lately, however, the online e-store of sorts has been a homage to illegal, online selling, such as World of Warcraft currency, items, and accounts. A new breed has broken through, in terms of legality, when it comes to World of Warcraft auctions.
Blizzard's latest craze to hit, is the new collectible card game, that offers special in game items to the owner. These cards, if unused (noticeable by the scratch away security tape) can be sold, LEGALLY, for currency. EBay has exploded with auctions for special cards, selling up wards to $175+ US. What will come of this? Decline in gold sales? No... Discontinuing the sale of accounts? Probably not... More people with turtle pets and groovy tabards? You bet cha'!!!
Kids, ask your parents permission before creating an EBay account and stealing their credit card to purchase online memorabilia. Don't get out of hand though... Reports suggest the first Hyppograph pet card was sold at a WHOPPING $1200 US. THAT'S CRAZY!!!
