Blizzard announced recently their plans for the inaugural World of Warcraft Arena Tournament, scheduled to begin on February 16 in Europe and North America and March 3 in Korea.
Any World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade player in these regions who consider themselves to be among the best in the game at PvP combat will soon be able to prove it to the rest of the world. Get 4 other friends together and start practicing.
All participating 5v5 teams that are currently fighting will have a chance to participate in the qualifiers. Each battlegroup will have at least one representative for each region. In the initial phase of the tournament players will fight against each other from February 16 until April 15 in North America and Europe and March 3 to April 15 in Korea. Each battlegroup will get a ranking posted on the wow community site so people can see their progress. Teams for the qualifiers will be chosen based upon the total number of servers in the battlegroup as well as overall participation of the battlegroup. Making it possible for more than one team from each realm to be selected. At the end of this initial ladder phase teams will compete in the qualifier on April 15 and the top ranked teams from here will be selected to participate in the tournament.
Each team that makes the tournament will be copied to a private server in their region. Here they will compete against the other qualifying teams in your battlegroup. This phase will run from April 20 to May 4. At the end of this round the top 8 teams from each region will participate in the live tournament in their region. The winner of this regional live tournament will then be invited to the WoW Season 1 world event. This is where the best PvP team will be determined.
So start practicing and make GameAmp proud PvPers. More importantly dont let Korea win!
