The WoW Community site is now offering a sneak peek at the future of PvP in game. The article, found here, gives readers a look at PvP Battlegrounds.
Battlegrounds and PvP rewards are discussed as steps in the full implimentation of the, now lacking, PvP system.
It looks as though the basis of the Battleground is a lot like the various Domination mods for first person shooters. The opposing Alliance and Horde factions will fight a fluid battle across the Battlground, with each side attempting to progressively conquer more and more of the enemies territory.
Although the ultimate goal of Battleground (can one side actually WIN?) conflict isn't really defined, Blizzard has given the community a nice glimpse of several aspects of the "zone" that can be encountered, utilized and participated in. These tid-bits include PvP reward mounts and Battleground quests which can, when completed, change the face of the entire conflict. A particularly nice aspect is that lower level PCs can fill an important support roll by working on these quests, ultimately allowing the high level characters to fight more effectively.
