| Description |
You cant just keep swinging that sword through thousands of enemies and expect it to stay as sharp as the day you bought (or looted) it, or at least in the World of Warcraft you cant. A little upkeep of your armor and weapons is required to keep your character in peak shape.
Using your weapon and taking damage will cause your equiptment's durability rating to slowly diminish. If you die all of your equipped items will automatically diminish in durability by 10%. If the items durability is reduced to 0, you will not be able to use that weapon or armor until you have it repaired, which can put you in hot water if your sword drops out halfway through an intense battle.
As long as you keep the equip's durability above 0, you'll experience no negative effects, with both offensive and defensive stats remaining the same. However, it is always a good idea to keep your gear in top condition. Visiting a weaponsmith or armor vendor will give you the opportunity to get them to fix your gear up for you, for a small fee of course.
