If you’re a Warlock then you may very well be soaking the Hateful Bolts, but you will still be responsible for working the flares too.

Now, I know you want your heaviest hitting spell on those flares, but if you have insta-cast Corruption I would slap it on the flares all the time and it never messed with my mana management. In all reality you should only ever have to hit the flares with one Shadow Bolt. But the extra DPS helps the fight overall. Corruption is not all that mana costly. And if you are using a Nightfall spec, the extra application will occasionally get you a proc for an insta-cast Shadow Bolt, speeding up the DPS on the flares themselves.

If not using a Nightfall spec you can still throw up a Curse of Agony which is always insta-cast.

You are also going to want to get Curse Of Doom applied to Curator himself, and you’ll need to do that in the middle of managing flares. I use a Macro for that as well to keep my DPS flowing smoothly.

This way, when you get the 1 minute warning till Evocation you can click the macro to apply the Doom, and then click one of the flare macros to go about your business.
