World of Warcraft allows players to have characters from both Factions on a single server in non PvP realms. This gives you the opportunity to play both Horde and Alliance without having to switch server to do so.
Doing this also gives you the advantage of using your high level character to support a lower level character from the opposite faction by transfering gold.
The way this is done it to go to Gadgetzan with the Character that needs the money and put some nearly worthless item like maybe a single linen bandage up for sale for the amount of gold you want transfered (say 10 gold). Nobody in their right mind would buy out your 10G bandage so there should be no problem with it still being there when you need to buy it. If they do? All the better because you just made 10G on a linen bandage and can do it again.
Now go to the Gadgetzan AH with the character to transfer the money from and purchase the worthless bandage for the 10 gold price. You opposing faction character will now be 10G richer (minus the AH fee).
